How Explosion-Proof Motors Control Temperature Rise
The temperature rise of an explosion-proof motor's stator winding is directly proportional to its current. As current increases, temperature rise naturally escalates, often at a steeper rate. Beyond current influence, temperature rise also correlates with other factors such as process fluctuations during manufacturing and quality control. To mitigate potential non-compliance caused by process variations, product designs should incorporate appropriate margins.
Explosion-Proof Motor Sweep-Bore Failure Inspection and Analysis
Sweeping fault refers to a mechanical failure where the stator and rotor of an explosion-proof motor come into contact. This fault represents the extreme state of uneven air gap between the motor's stator and rotor. Diagnosing and analyzing uneven air gaps without actual sweeping contact is relatively challenging. However, when friction has already occurred, the visible fault location and symptoms make analysis comparatively easier.
Horizontal and Vertical Installation of Explosion-Proof Motors
Explosion-proof motors offer multiple installation configurations, with two primary methods: horizontal installation with a base plate, mounted parallel to the motor shaft axis; and vertical installation with a flange, mounted perpendicular to the motor shaft axis. Horizontal explosion-proof motor installation requires special attention to several dimensions. The most critical are dimensions A and B on the base: A represents the radial distance between the center of the motor base mounting holes, while B denotes the axial distance between the center of the motor base mounting holes.
Effects of Electromagnetic Vibration on Explosion-Proof Motors
Various mechanical vibrations generated during the operation of explosion-proof motors can wear down and erode winding insulation. Among these, electromagnetic vibration poses the most critical threat to the insulation of the end windings and slot openings in explosion-proof motors. If the stator core press-fitting quality is subpar or the winding end binding process is poorly executed, the windings may shift within the slots. Interlayer spacers and temperature sensor spacers will also continuously move between upper and lower windings, causing wear on both layers and damaging the winding insulation.
