The YBX4 series (frame sizes 80–355) of explosion-proof three-phase asynchronous motors for underground coal mines (hereinafter referred to as “the motors”), with efficiency compliant with Grade 2 as specified in GB 18613-2020 “Energy Efficiency Limit Values and Energy Efficiency Grades for Small and Medium-Sized Three-Phase Induction Motors,” are suitable for use as general-purpose power equipment in underground coal mines containing methane or coal dust. The explosion-proof performance of the motor complies with GB3836.1-2021 “Explosive Atmospheres—Part 1: Equipment—General Requirements,” GB3836.2-2021 “Explosive Atmospheres—Part 2: Equipment protected by flameproof enclosures ‘d’,” and MT451-2011 “General Technical Specifications for Safety Performance of Flameproof Low-Voltage Three-Phase Asynchronous Motors for Coal Mines.” The explosion-proof marking is II 2G Exdb I Mb, making it suitable for underground coal mining workfaces where methane or combustible gases are present, or where coal dust mixed with air creates an explosive atmosphere.

Scope of Application and Operating Conditions
1 Environmental Conditions for Motor Use
1.1 Ambient air temperature varies with the seasons but generally does not exceed -15°C to +40°C;
1.2 Ambient atmospheric pressure: 80–110 kPa;
1.3 Altitude does not exceed 1,000 m;
1.4 Maximum relative humidity of ambient air does not exceed 95% (at a temperature of +25°C);
1.5 Underground mining workfaces in coal mines where there is an explosion hazard due to flammable gases, vapors, mists, dust, or fibers mixed with air within the upper and lower explosive limits.
2 Electrical Operating Conditions for the Motor
2.1 The motor is rated for continuous operation, with a duty type of S1.
2.2 The motor stator windings use Class F insulation. When the motor operates at low airflow within the specified operating conditions, the permissible bearing temperature (thermometer method) shall not exceed 95°C, the maximum surface temperature of the housing (thermometer method) shall not exceed 150°C, and the temperature rise of the stator windings (resistance method) shall be evaluated at 85 K.
